So you ended up in the blogging world with dreams, aspirations and expectations to make it BIG! You research for reviews, plan for outfit shoots, edit the pictures, spend hours writing a post making sure the quality of the content on your blog is just fit for your audiences and the brands. And all you get in return is a free sample or an invite to the event. Really? Is that all you deserve? Are you fine doing barter just for the sake of being in the business? Let’s pause here because it is just one side of the coin.
Thinking from a brands perspective, they want to work with a blog that has good reach, more followers and active readers so that their brand gets acknowledged by larger and wider audiences. If we look into it from this angle, the expectation is not wrong, after all they are running a business and they would want to benefit with the collaboration.
Confused?? Well to clear these doubts , Rachna Singh and Gaurav Bansal from myfashionbay.com took a great initiative through ‘Indian Fashion Interface 2016’ that brought together the brands, designers, budding bloggers and media to have a very fruitful interactive session with each other. The event continued for two days, 6th and 7th February at One Golden Mile where more than 80 bloggers that took part in the conference besides PR heads, Brand heads & media personalities.
Convocation’s key focus was to bridge the gap between brands and bloggers by addressing their respective concerns. The panel had distinguished speakers like Bubbles Sabharwal (Well known Theatre Personality), Meha Jayaswal (Area Head-Fashion, Media & Communication at Pearl Academy), Rachna Singh (Founder, Myfashionbay.com), Gaurav Bansal (Co-founder, Myfashionbay.com), Komal K (Fashion Blogger), Sunil Rai (VP, Vcloud). The discussion included an informative overview on the successful impact of social media latforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter etc for bloggers and brands to enhance business.
Rachna Singh commenced the show stating how blogging has become an essential part of media scenario today and that bloggers connect strongly with their followers disseminating information quicker & in a voice that connects with the followers. Komal and Payal put forward their views on different ways of getting into mutually beneficial collaborations between bloggers, designers and brands. The panelists explained the importance of blogging and how bloggers are increasingly becoming an important source of information on fashion and soon blogs will formally become part of the bibliography. Sunil Rai further disclosed that there are no set parameters for brands to gauge a bloggers work in India and for brands to work closely with bloggers, this gap needs to be bridged.
IFI 2016, New Delhi edition also hosted a showcase of various contemporary & young designers across clothing, accessories & lifestyle categories on 6th & 7th February at One Golden Mile. Designers from Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Chandigarh & other locations participated in the showcase titled “#PopBazaar”. Pearl Academy of Fashion, Roposo.com, One Golden Mile, Vcloud were partners in the campaign.
