The biggest fashion extravaganza India Runway Week, Season 5 Winter/Festive 2015 was held over the weekend at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Organized by Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD), the youngest fashion movement had fashion collections from budding, next gen and established designers. With 36 Designers, 14 Fashion shows, India Runway week celebrated fresh fashion by young talent and provided an opportunity to designers to share a big platform with senior established names from the Fashion fraternity. I was lucky enough to witness it and as promised here I am to give you a glimpse of what the show looked like. Do not forget to watch the video which I managed to create just for you
The first day commenced with a Grand opening by Singer Mika Singh and Actor Darshan Kumar for “Royal Heritage Collection” of Designer Himmat Singh. It was followed the collection of New Designers like Gauri Couture by Nikheil, Rivendra and Twinkle Collection“Mastani” inspired from ghungroo talks about carefree swag of womanhood, then Anupam Kumar Theme : “TRIBAL TRAVEL WITH TIME” the past and present meet as the old and the new come together. Hetal Shah’s collection “Boho Rani” Colors and an array of pattern burst on the canvas when the Bohemian style meets the authentic Indian saree’s and Neetu Singh’s collection “SAANJH” was also much appreciated by the fashionistas. Other Designers, Biba Kohli, Akshay Wadhwa, Megha and Jigar, Aliahmed Shaikh and Ashfaque Ahmad too kept the level high for the day with best and new collections for the season.
Second Day, Designers Rishi & soujit, Kanika and Sugandh, Bani Pasricha, Divya Shah & Lipsa Jain and Ojasvita Mahendru started the day by their attractive collections. Pallavi A. Agarwal’s collection Vaunt, is dedicated towards offering high-quality, handmade,bridal, couture, and prêt wear with bold yet subtle designs and themes to fulfil the sartorial needs of women of all ages. Purvi – Aanal Fashion Couture is all about blending the glorious past with the functional future. Their designs harmonize this delicate balance of “Fashion with Fusion”. Gauhar Khan walked the ramp for Delhi-based jewellery designer Akassh K Aggarwal.The Boudoir Collection By Akassh K Aggarwal is a recreation of a glorious era of grandeur, splendor and preciousness of jewelry vanity. Using flora n fauna motifs makes it an Exotic Royal Indian celebration with aesthetics in a contemporary perspective & striking combinations of Diamonds, rubies emeralds, pearls, sapphires, citrines n several other semi-precious stones. Assortment of multiple accessories options, gives the collection a versatility to be worn on ethnic as well with Indowestern outfits. Designers like Urvashi & Sukanya, Preyal and Amisha and Nidhi Kejriwal also showcased with Distinctive use of Colours, fabrics, style, and fashion keeping the their standards high throughout the show.
The finale day, was no less as it had the collections from the industry professional Designers Manish Gupta and Shravan Kumar Ramaswamy. Manish Gupta’s Collections were the one for which everyone was waiting for and Tv Actor Mohit Malhotra added more charm, as he walked the stage for his collections. Not only this small children from orphanage “Udayan Ghar” were also their to walk the ramp for Manish Gupta.The Fall Winter collections of 2015-16 were inspired by Vrindavan, an exquisite and elaborately designed collection of Ethnic and Fusion Wear. Designer got inspired by the vivid visuals of Vrindavan and the emotional connect of it with his soul. Bollywood Celeb Adah Sharma graced the collection of Sharav Kumar Ramaswamy. He draws his inspiration from sheer volume and beauty of Ethnic Indian Designs that Reflect an Amalgamation of colour and texture along with Class. He has made his life goal to help weavers and his much sought-after collections include the use of handlooms like Kalamkari, Mangalagiri, Madhavaram, Narayanpet, Chirala, Venkatagiri and Chunnur khadi. Designers like Ekta Goel, Kinjal Khimasia, Pankaj Singh, Karan Sanger, Garima Sharma, Liz Paul & Satya Mishra , Tanya Patni, Priyanka Shenoy, Raas by Akanksha and Dhruv, Rohini Gugnani and Roop Vatika also got much appreciation for their outstanding collections.
