Whats up ? I have been a lot into matte lip colors these days and the latest addition to my lipstick collection is the COLORBAR Extra Durable Lipcolor in Iced 026. I have a lot to tell you about this product , so without any further ado , Lets get started !!
Price : Rs 750
Quantity : 9ml
Ingredient List : Not Available
What COLORBAR claims?
“Extra Durable Lip Color is a long stay liquid lip colour that is rich in texture. It endures for more than 10 hours after application without feathering, bleeding or smudging. Its non transferable and kiss proof formula not only locks the lip colour but also keeps the lips moisturised and nourished. The Extra Durable Lip Color is perfect for all occasions, especially a date!”
It is available in 15 shades most of which are neutrals and nudes.
The packaging of this lipcolor is very elegant. It comes in a silver cover inside which you get your actual lipstick in a tube packaging ;). It has two containers , one having lipcolor and the other having clear gloss. Lipcolor has a doe foot applicator and the lip-gloss has a brush. Both applicators are very convenient to use. Overall a cute , stylish and travel friendly packaging.
The shade that I own (as you must already know by now 😉 ) is Iced 026 which is a gorgeous dull pink shade and it is a perfect nude for my skin tone. So there are two things that you get in this product – A lip color (which is thick and well pigmented) , A transparent gloss (which is medium consistency). When you apply the lip color it feels a little sticky, it dries within seconds (so you need to be quick at applying it ) and feels dry 😐 YEAH !! That is exactly how I feel about it. Anyway, since you get a clear gloss along with it , so you can apply it whenever you feel the need or if you like glossy lips more. However if you want to keep it matte ,I recommend using a lip balm underneath (Show some love to your lips 😛 ) .
I usually glide it on my lips, smack my lips together and most of the times skip the glossy top coat for a very obvious reason ‘I LoVE going MATTE’ . One stroke is enough to get the pigment onto your lips. The color survives for good 6-7 hours with full meals , post which it starts peeling off (by this I don’t mean that the color is gone completely 😉 ) . You need to use a cream or oil based cleanser to remove it completely. If you apply gloss alone then it stays upto 2-3 hours which is the same as any other gloss you use. It doesn’t smell good , yeah it feels like having a dose of medicine 😛 .What I love about this lippie is that it doesn’t get transferred at all. The gloss gets erased but not the color.
How to Use :
- Apply a thin, even coat of color on bare lips and wait until completely dry.
- Brush topcoat over color. Reapply topcoat if desired for softness, comfort and shimmering shine.
- Remove with an oil based cleanser
And This is how it looks on me :
The first column shows the Matte effect this lip color gives and the second column is with the gloss and color both.
- Stays for a long time
- Easy to apply
- Non Transferable
- Very good pigmentation
- You can get both matte and glossy lips with it.
- One swipe application
- It dries while you are still applying it so you need to be quick.
- Dries the lips
- Medicine like smell
- Starts flaking out
- You need a cleanser to remove it and I am not kidding here 😛
- Not many options available for those who want to try vibrant and fun lip colors.
- No ingredient list.
What would I Rate it?
Will I repurchase ?
Its a ‘Maybe’ this time. For being this expensive and for being not so moisturising , I may look for some other options.
Do I recommend?
Those of you who struggle with chapped lips, I would suggest to stay away or use a lip balm underneath. But those who can compromise on its moisturising ability and want to invest in a lip product that lasts long , can go for this one blindly
Do you own an ColorBar Extra durable lipcolor yet ? Would you want to buy one ? Let me know in the comments section and I hope you find this review helpful.
